Had a good time guiding Paul + Ted from San Raffael on the lower Sac. It was pretty warm today, we would hook a few fish in a stretcjh and then go without any grabs for a bit.
PMD nymphs+crackback’s+prince nymphs fooled a few fish today.

Pete + son Peter did really well today at Eagle Canyon. We had perfect conditions with overcast and little wind.
The guys stripped in small nymphs most the day and hooked into several nice sized fish in the 8-12 lbs range.

Guided Tom + Wayne from the Bay Area today on the L.Sac. The weather was absolutely gorgeous.
The grab was a little sluggish today but we picked them off. Puppas+princes’+black copper johns were the big hitters today.
At lunch today saw some huge stone flies on the rocks. Don’t forget about those size 4 rubber legs.

Helped guide a 5-boat trip with Project Healing Waters on the Lower Sac yesterday.
Despite never fishing before Jessica & Shawn were fast learners and got into several hard fighting fish!
The AM grab was a bit sluggish, but after lunch the action was consistent.

The Cal-Shingle group had their work cut out for them with the wind+rain at EC but some fish were still caught. We tried all kinds of different flies -micro mays+midges fooled a few.

Two left-handed guys both named Martin on the same boat sounds like trouble but we had a phenomenal day on lower Sac from start to finish. I honestly lost track of how many fish were landed but it was well in the double digits.
The Sac is fishing really good right now- rubberlegs, micro-mays & prince nymphs has been a good rig lately.

Guided Steve + Paul from Madera yesterday on the Trinity. Paul hooked an adult steelhead on the first cast!  Fishing has been a bit on the slow side but there's certainly fish in the river. Mayfly imitations have been consistently working.

Eagle Canyon fished well on Saturday- the grab was good in the AM but slowed up a bit in the afternoon. Red copper Johns, San Juan worms+ midges worked swimmingly.
You Pyramid Lake guys should check this place out!

Matt + Allen from Redbluff found some steelhead yesterday. Matt found the first fish of the day just minutes into the float.
Lately it’s been about having the flies in the right place at the right time. Present the flies well and good things can happen. Tight lines.

Had a good time with Tom + Geoff today on the Trinity. We got a break in the weather and had a beautiful day on the river. We found only half pounders today but that’s steelheadin’ for ya.

Had a good time guiding Tom from Walnut Creek. We floated upper river today and despite the low + clear conditions, Tom landed a nice adult steelhead. We’ve gotten some much anticipated rain which should push some more fish into the mix.

Had the pleasure of guiding Jon + Chet from Ventura on the LS today- (for us) the fish were into egg imitations in the morning and turned onto nymphs in the afternoon.

I met Shawn while guiding up in Alaska and was stoked to get him into fish on some local water.
Tied into adult steelhead on the swing + nymphing. Encouraged to see several spawning salmon along our drift. Could be great season.

What does a professional drone pilot do on his day off you might ask? Go fishing of course! Matt came up from Santa Barbara to help map the Lower Sac for salmon habitat (and a lot of other cool scientific that will help our local fisheries).
We had pretty good luck working the side channels throwing small nymphs. Temps under 100° always help too!

"The website makes it sound like you're going to die if you fish the Pit... let's do it."

Matt came up from San Jose to check out some fresh water and was intrigued from what he heard and read about the Pit River.
Within an hour Matt landed several hard-fighting rainbows including one that filled up the net nicely (pic attached).
