Trinity River: , by Andrew Harris: Getting good: 4 stars Fishing is getting better by the day on the Trinity River. Yesterday my client Richard and I floated 10 miles of river in the Douglas City area and didn't see another boat all day. And yes, we found some nice steelhead, too. The weather was a little chilly and the best action was in the afternoon. It rained a fair bit overnight and the fish responded favorably, even though the river didn't come up significantly. Today was day 3 with Richard and I finally let him catch a fish before 2pm. We caught fish throughout the day and Richard managed to land 5 five nice steelhead in a short day. I saw a lot of fish under the boat today. It's supposed to rain pretty hard tomorrow and that should actually bump up the flows a bit. That means the fish will move into new holes and be in their happy place, ready to eat your fly. This next week should be pretty good.
