There is no other place we would rather be than winter Steelheading on the Southern Oregon Coast. Why? As our coastal rivers rise and fall with winter rains, big, wild steelhead push into emerald waters, seeking refuge in glassy tail-outs and choppy riffles. Opportunities for the steelhead of a lifetime come numerous times each season. This area is great for winter steelheading because there is a variety of small, medium and large rivers and it is rare for all of them to be too low or too high to fish at the same time.

January, February and March are the best months to connect with one of these powerful fish. The rivers we fish are all within an hour of Gold Beach, where the Rogue River meets the ocean. We use jet boats on the Lower Rogue, rafts on the smaller rivers, and also fish some of the smaller streams on foot. Most of our guests stay at hotels in Gold Beach or in nearby vacation rentals. Our guides can arrange for your vacation rental accommodations or you can book them on your own. You might also be interested in our 4 night/3 day Winter Spey Stays which include meals, lodging and guiding - see below!

Our guide team on the southern Oregon coast is headed by Gino Bernero and Dax Messett. These guides have the permits to fish the Lower Rogue and Illinois. They have jet boats for the Rogue River and rafts for the smaller rivers. They can take you where the fishing is best no matter what the conditions.
