Considering a day trip? The Yuba's been a gem all year and continues to fish well. It's an easy day trip from the Bay Area or from Sacramento. Hopper action hasn't been stellar this year but it's been decent on some days … it's a viable option if you commit to throwing dries. September will fish well while October and November usher in the egg bite as more salmon move into the system. The Yuba gets an annual run of valley steelhead that can help put a few numbers down on your report card without the drive, wet and cold temps of the coast.
