All of the weather services for the past few days said that today wasn't going to be very windy (under 10mph) and that it would die completely at 11am. What we learned today was that weather apps aren't always right! Nevertheless, we had a great day chasing after unicorns and lochness monsters. These guys did great and put in the work all day long and despite the wind, we put some really pretty fish in the net. There were a good and steady number of the "cookie cutter" 15 inch sized fish and a few larger ones as well. We saw an osprey grab an 18 inch trout in shallow water, saw an eagle, and only a couple boats. Hard to not enjoy that scenario with great company! Didn't see a whole lot of bug activity other than a handful of PMD's and small caddis, but the fishing was pretty steady from 11am until 3pm. Another great day on the lower Sac. I'm off for a week now as I'm heading to Texas to go catch some redfish... so until the next time... tight lines!
