My guests Dan and his father Russ had two great days of fishing on the Sac. Our first day was Friday and the river was firing on all cylinders all day! They were doubled-up right away and the action remained solid throughout the day. Dan’s daughter graduated from Simpson University on Saturday, so we fished again today. We had some wind to contend with along with another flow bump up to 8,000 cfs, but the grab was still fairly consistent with some runs fishing better than others. Our feel-good moment came when we rescued a cliff swallow that was struggling in the river. After netting him and bringing it on board, we could see it was soaked and breathing heavy. This little one hitched a ride for about 20 minutes before flying away with a great story to tell his friends.
