I had two really fun days with my guest Jeff. We had hoped to fish the McCloud both days but melting glaciers on Mt. Shasta created unfishable conditions on the Mac – and the USFS has closed all forest service land through Labor Day due to fire danger. Monday, we fished the upper Sac in the Dunsmuir area and had some decent action and then floated the lower Sac today. After hooking a very nice fish right away, the grab didn’t really heat up until mid-morning. Jeff had consistent action throughout the afternoon, with some runs really producing a lot of hook-ups. The smoke hasn’t been too bad, some days better than others.
