I had a great time with Jason on the Feather. Fish were chowing and we got them on eggs and a wide variety of bugs. October is go time...more and more salmon are showing up and dropping eggs and more steelhead will keep coming up the system. I have not seen another fishing boat in the last two days out there. Primary tactics have been indicator nymphing and we are also getting into fish doing hopper dropper. Only a 2.5 hour drive from SF, the Lower Feather is a highly underrated river and a great place for someone to catch their first steelhead. Numbers are looking good for this season and should only get better from here.
