Lower Sac: , by Luke Geraty: Chunky ‘bows on the Lower Sac!: 3 stars Larry, Tom, and I just spent the past two days on the Lower Sac and as is typical for October, we hooked a lot of fish and landed a a bunch too! Boy those trout can be grabby, as well as quick! But it sure is fun! This was Tom's first trip in the drift boat and after a quick little casting and mending talk, he was hooking fish immediately. Larry and I have fished together and is such a cool dude and he put the hurt on the trout too! Both guys lost some big, big, BIG fish, some which we saw come out of the water and others that we just got toasted by. *Sigh* All of our blood pressure and anxieties came to a head today when we lost TWO 23+ inch fish in two casts. Argh. But all in all, we had a great time and the fish were cooperative and we had excellent weather too! The fish were much more grabby in the morning, crushing eggs and in the afternoon looking more toward the bugs. Lots of salmon still in the water, which means lots of boats too. But alarm clocks exist for such a time as this! Anyway... couple days off before more Sac River fun! Next 10 open days for Luke Geraty: Nov 22, 26, Dec 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 18, 19, 20 |
