The Trinity River has been a winter wonderland with snow and a bit a bit of rain the past 2 days (12/21-22/2022) non the less has been fishing very well the steelhead have been nestled down above drop offs in fast water, in shallow water on the banks, and hanging out behind large boulders in slower water. The fish I have encountered have been quite eager to eat bigger flies such as rubber legs, poxyback golden stones and bigger pheasant tail nymphs! With a few steelhead to the boat everyday and the beautiful scenery with fog lining the tops of the canyons it has been an amazing time. I have availabilities starting the new year. Let's fish!
