I had my first yuba trip since the last big storm yesterday and it went very well. There was a suprising amount of bugs around- I saw skwalas, march browns, lots of pmds and a few caddis. The color of the water is excellent and the river is in good shape. If anyone says that it has been scoured out from the high flows- don't believe it. The river was just over 5,000 cfs yesterday and is definitely big. We hunted down slower water and found eager fish. Our outlook for the rest of spring is great, once the weather warms up the hatches will probably get huge and provide good action both nymphing and throwing dries.
