Lower Sac Report by Mat Squillante

The fire's been lit on the Lower Sac. Fishing's been very good but great is coming soon. More salmon are moving onto redds everyday and trout are hanging just downstream waiting for a morsel. Matt, Luke, Ben, Colin, Scott, Peter, Kevin … the entire team's been reporting good fishing. Check schedules for availability because the fire's lit and it's about to go full tilt egg bite. You definitely don't want to miss this time of year, it's special!

Yuba River Report by Mat Squillante

The Lower Sac and Trinity are getting lots of attention as they come into peak fishing shape but the Yuba's also a good bet, especially if you're looking for a shorter day trip. These two friends, one's 95, shared a smile over their second double of the day. The fishing will continue to improve as more salmon move onto redds and hungry trout loiter for an easy meal. Trinity River Report by Mat Squillante

The fishing's what I'll call "early season" good. A big push of fish hasn't happened yet but it's in the air. The morning's are getting cooler, the flows are dropping, salmon are moving and steelhead are making it to the net. Colin, Andrew and I have all been on the river. We're getting shots at a few solid adults each day with smaller fish filling in the gaps between the bigger ones. Early season means you have a good chance at connecting with a steelhead but without being cold, wet or both. Visit the Confluence site to see who's got days open on their calendar. Some of the year's best fishing is revving up. It's go time!
